What are a few of your favorites in NYC?

Erica: One of my top NYC restaurants is Kuma Inn on the Lower East Side—it’s a Southeast Asian BYOB place that’s up a kind of shady flight of stairs, and it feels like the sort of place that was once common in Manhattan but is becoming rarer and rarer as rents skyrocket. As far as bars go, both the Tribeca and Brooklyn outposts of Weather Up are really stellar (even though they’re very different!). And, to be honest, I don’t go IRL shopping all that much unless I’m out of town, but one of the best stores I’ve been to recently was Trademark on Grand Street—the space is as well-designed as the clothes are. Claire: I actively crave the soba at Cocoron—my soba obsession was realized on our honeymoon in Japan so going there to eat has the added bonus of reminding me of the best vacation I’ve ever taken.
