Exclusive Interview: "Devil Wears Prada" Novelist Lauren Weisberger Celebrates Launch Of Sequel "Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns"

Over cocktails, Barrymore wine, Rice Crispy treats, popsicles and chocolates, on Monday evening, Kyle White & the Oscar Blandi Salon hosted a party (equipped with a hair styling station) to celebrate the launch of Lauren Weisberger’s new novel, "Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns" – the sequel to "The Devil Wears Prada." “I've always wanted to write a sequel,” Ms. Weisberger told Guest of A Guest. “10 years had gone by, and I started getting really curious about what had gone on in these characters’ lives. So much happens in our own lives in 10 years. I thought it would be really fun to see what Andy and Emily are up to.”

In the last Devil installation, Andy Sachs and Emily (Andy’s former arch nemesis) served as assistants to (devil-in-Prada) Miranda Priestly, at Runway Magazine. Ms. Weisberger explained her thought process behind the characters’ latest career ventures – together – at The Plunge Magazine.

“I gave Andy sort of my fantasy job,” Ms. Weisberger told Guest of A Guest. “She gets to edit a magazine. She gets to do a lot of the assigning and writing, but because it’s a bridal magazine, she also gets to travel. She covers these celebrity weddings at these far locations; exotic everything.”

Ms. Weisberger read an excerpt from her new book and signed copies of the hardcover sequel for party guests. Attendees were gifted bags of Oscar Blandi hairstyling products, such as dry shampoo and mousse, in addition to a Pronto Styling Pin for instant updos.
