Tip 4: Be Early to Ensure a Smooth Ride
Ben: The most important thing about these early dates is that you don’t want to be in a situation where you’re trying to situation yourself on the date and in the restaurant at the same time.
Me: wait, I don’t understand what that means.
Ben: Simply that when you’re meeting someone and you don’t really know them, it’s sort of a gauntlet in New York. You have to say hello, check in with a hostess, deal with a crowd, see about a wait, get the booth, etc. All at the same time. The fewer of those things you have to do, the better.
Me: So what can you do to eliminate those obstacles, or deal with them effectively? Just…arrive early?
Ben: for one, sure.
