"Lifestyle consultant" is the phrase that Maria Brito, CEO of Lifestyling by Maria Brito, has adopted to explain her range of talents. An accomplished interior designer, art collector, Brito's responsibilities range from redesigning her client's homes to helping them curate their contemporary art collections. A New Yorker and veteran of the contemporary art scene, Brito's eye for style and aesthetic has created a loyal client list with some high-profile names, including Sean Combs and Gwyneth Paltrow. We sat down with Maria to talk about her new book, Out There: Design, Art, Travel, Shopping, her background in law, and why it's so important to bring contemporary art into the New York vernacular.
