St. Dorothea of Cappadocia -
St. Dorothea of Cappadocia - The Patron Saint of Florists (February 6). According to legend, on the way to her execution, Dorothea was asked by a young lawyer to send him some particular roses that she had spoken of previously. Upon her martyrdom, the lawyer received a basket full of celestial fruit and flowers – Dorothea delivered posthumously! Her feast day is conveniently close to another holiday during which flowers are exchanged, which means that you now have two days in February to demand expect a bouquet.
