Partying Through A Pandemic
The summer of 2020 (a.k.a. The Great Influencer Reckoning) saw plenty of social media stars embroiled in controversy and Ms. Bernstein was, indeed, one of them. Although she definitely wasn't the only person in the world (or even the Hamptons) engaging in risky pre-vaccine behavior, Danielle was widely criticized for attending large parties and appearing to socialize maskless during the pandemic.
After facing pushback for attending one East End party in July, Danielle took to her IG to explain that she was with people she'd been quarantining with and knew the COVID status of. In an Instagram comment on @InfluencersTruth post, she also wrote, "[I] stayed on the outskirts of the party with only people I know and have been with... I was here for less than an hour and left because I didn’t feel comfortable."
That September, after reportedly attending a different gathering in the Hamptons, Danielle revealed to her followers that she had contracted COVID.
