Olivia Jade
'Twas the college cheating scandal that shook the world - and seriously damaged this "celebrity" influencer's reputation. Olivia Jade Giannulli is the daughter of Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, who were indicted back in March as part of the huge college admissions bribery sting. According to the charges, her parents shelled out around $500,000 in bribes to get Olivia and her sister accepted to USC. At the time of the scandal, Olivia was already a prolific YouTuber and IG star, with over a million followers on each platform. When the cheating scheme was revealed, Olivia lost sponsorship deals with Sephora and Estee Lauder, while her Instagram was flooded with comments calling her a fraud - no wonder she hasn't posted any new content since it all went down.
But even before her parents' scheme was made public, Olivia was forced to apologize to fans after an August 2018 video in which she "spilled the tea" on her college expectations. "I don’t know how much of school I’m gonna attend," she said, after explaining her "work" schedule. "But I’m gonna go in and talk to my deans and everyone, and hope that I can try and balance it all. But I do want the experience of like game days, partying…I don’t really care about school, as you guys all know." Her followers were shocked by how ungrateful and privileged she came across. "It’s honestly insulting when tons of people can’t even afford to go to college but want to and I know damn well you’re not going to a community college meaning you’re probably going to a good school that others would literally kill to go to," one commenter said. Add that to the fact that she bribed her way in and yikes.
