Well, yes, fireworks on our birthday do make us feel extra special. The problem is, deciding if pushing through crowds and getting there early for a good viewing spot is all worth it. This will be my first birthday experience in NYC, and if I want a good viewing spot, it was suggested that I get there before sunset. Perhaps if I was celebrating the holiday I would sacrifice such a huge chunk of time and push through massive crowds, but I'd rather not spend my birthday evening in such a situation.
