I'm a full time witch and I work at Catland Books in Bushwick, an occult community and one stop witch shop. For me being a witch means participating in a living history and tradition defined by the physical, psychic, and emotional labor of women and femmes.
Many pagans, witches, and wiccans coming from a Northern European influenced tradition celebrate Halloween as Samhain. It's a time to honor the departed, our ancestors, saints, any and all beloved who have gone before us. Samhain is also good time to lay old, toxic patterns of behavior to rest, to take a moment to reflect and renew before winter sets in.
