How did you both first get involved in the NYC nightlife scene?
Wael Merchri-Yver: Both Juriël and I have been in the nightlife scene for years. We have an international background linked to music with Juriël based out of Amsterdam and myself in Paris before New York. Juriël has extensive experience in the deep house and techno world creating events, producing Top 10 hits and managing the top artists in the genre. In 2013, Juriël was brought to New York by Lee Burridge as his manager. That's when we reconnected.
It's always been in my DNA to bring people together around events and magic. I previously was with Cirque Bonheur (The ex-Man Ray, now new Zig Zag) in Paris as Music Director and was drawn to New York to bring a revival to the scene back to the glamor and magic of its Studio 54 days. I came in 2012 and started working with Noah Tepperberg on the re-launch of the new MARQUEE and went from there to partner with Juriël to capture the dream of reviving the NYC nightlife.
