What's the inspiration behind your clothing line?
My current collection contains two groupings.
1) Indigo from the nomadic tribes in Mali. I took the print, blew it up and infused it with a little bit of galactic disco. I’ve juxtaposed the ethnic print from Mali with a decidedly urban metallic vibe with a sportswear silhouette and athletic feel.
2) Berber Moroccan rugs called Beni Ourain. These are white wool rugs with brown diamond patterns. The dresses, ponchos and sorts are mimicking the Berber rugs and have a material that feels like a rug and tassels that look like the end of a rug.
With all of these clothes, you’re supposed to be able to wear them all weekend or all day and night. The line will be out this spring!
