How did you come up with the idea for your tile collection?
I was invited to the opening of Tilebar’s new Chelsea showroom through an interior designer friend, Micky Klein. When I arrived, I saw some gorgeous tile collections and I said to myself, I would be great at tile design as my strengths lie in composition, scale, patterning, and coloration. I hustled a deal, because I chase what I want. After we signed, I was sitting at my conference table and I was looking at one of my clutches and I said to myself, if I change the scale of that design, it would make for magnificent tile. The result was the ‘Arc Collection’ – a luxury waterjet marble collection available in five colorways that creates thousands of different patterns, depending on how you lay them out. We won best in show, twice, out of millions of designs. Winning at HD Expo – the largest hospitality convention in the country – was THE highlight of my career.
