What's On Molly Moorkamp's Holiday Wish List?

by Guest of A Guest · December 10, 2021

'Tis the season to be chic and festive!

No one dresses for the holidays quite like Molly Moorkamp

The Platonic ideal of uptown girls, her winter collection of feathered frocks and merry floral dresses and classic, cozy sweaters are a well dressed woman's dream wardrobe.

So, curious what's on the beyond stylish fashion designer's holiday wish list?

    Us too!

How do you celebrate the holidays?
As a glamour elf up in the North Pole! We're extremely busy during the holidays, from making sure all our MM girls are decked in fresh frocks to whipping up new sweaters for under the tree. Once we're all settled sending blue boxes all across the globe, it's definitely time for a festive martini.

You can find Sam and I at Dowling's at least a few times a week during the month of December....

Where will you be this season?
New York City of course! Harry's Bar is our family Christmas Eve tradition and I'm so thrilled they finally re-opened their doors!

    Are you a last-minute or way-in-advance shopper?
LAST. MINUTE. I love an impulse purchase on the 23rd of December paired with a long holiday lunch. Do as I say not as I do ;)

What's the best gift you've ever given (or received)?
I just received the most glamorous black silk dressing robe from my friend Jane Scott Hodges. Anything Leontine Linens with my initials is on the top of my list.

    What's your go-to hostess gift?
Frozen pigs in a blanket to throw in the freezer for a later date. Set it and forget it!

    Favorite spots to shop?
I love shopping in the neighborhood for festive holiday goodies. You can find me window shopping every morning of the week up Madison Avenue. KRB obviously for divine home (extra points for gorgeous wrapping paper).

And I think we can all agree the House and Parties pop-up in the Carlyle is the dose of pizazz the UES has been waiting for. I also love any excuse to cozy up at the bar in the BG mens store

What's on your list to get?
Between the new Manolo store in residence on Madison and the Vivier shop across the street, I'm starting to get a bit cross-eyed. I'm a shiny shoe gal what can I say.

What's on your list to give?
I recently discovered a beautiful brand called Papier Fleurs. They make stunning hand-made potted geranium sculptures in all colors and sizes. Definitely on my list to give this year.
