If there's an amazing party on the social calendar, chances are Alexander Hankin is either at it or throwing it.
Real estate development at Hankin Management Company by day, art world by night, champagne wishes and caviar dreams in between - ah the life of a stylish man about town!
While Alexander will be plenty busy this season jet setting around from hot spot to hot spot, he'll still have time to make the holidays merry and bright.
Curious what's on his list of gifts to give and get?
Us too!
How do you celebrate the holidays?
Oh the Holidays. For me, the season always kicks off at my family farm for Thanksgiving. Every year my mother outdoes her self with a festive table and we share what we’re most thankful for. And aside from my family I’m always thankful there is Caviar at Thanksgiving dinner.
We celebrate Hanukkah always at my Aunt Gail’s for brunch. Christmas makes me glad I’m Jewish and I can get my own little white Christmas tradition by hitting the slopes in Aspen and ring in the New Year with fireworks and friends in the Rockies.
Where will you be this season?
This year I’ll be keeping my holiday tradition alive and flying with my best friends to Aspen on Christmas Day. Oh, speaking of Aspen, those who are in town should join me for my Aspen Art Museum Après Ski Benefit on December 29th.
Are you a last-minute or way-in-advance shopper?
For holiday shopping I sort of shop as I go. If I see something I get it and then usually get too excited and give my gift as soon as I buy it. For example this year I got my mother a Louis Vuitton objets nomades flower and wound up giving it to her on Thanksgiving.
What's the best gift you've ever received?
The best gift I’ve ever received - aside from my parents allowing me to get my JD and LLM - would be a Murakami from my parents.
What's your go-to hostess gift?
For the host and hostess my go-to is always Dom Perignon (the Gaga collaboration this year), or caviar from Pearl Street or CaviAIR.
Favorite spots to shop?
The best places for gifts are Louis Vuitton, Saks, and Gorsuch in Aspen.
What's on your list to get?
I’m very lucky and blessed. Honestly there is nothing I want this year but my friends and family to be happy and healthy. But if someone wanted to get me something, make a donation to MAD, The Aspen Art Museum, The Serpentine Galleries or the art institution of your choice.
What's on your list to give?
Caviar, champagne, and art.
