There are plenty of wonky stereotypes about Italians in America (no, we don't all party at the Jersey Shore), but the one that forever rings true is how much they care about food. Which is why it's no secret that "real" Italians are highly critical of the faux-breadstick-toting national restaurant chain, Olive Garden. The latest offering sure to garner a few "Italians Mad At Food" comments? Their new Loaded Pasta Chips.
Essentially a pasta-nacho hybrid, this over-the-top appetizer features lightly fried "pasta chips," layered with Italian cheeses, meat sauce, cherry peppers, and a drizzle of alfredo sauce.
Yikes.
While the dish definitely sounds like something Guy Fieri would come up with on his way to Flavortown, reactions to the news have been surprisingly mixed on Twitter.
