While the majority of celebs aren't going into their own pockets here, it's not exactly unheard of. Desperate times call for big checks. Back in 2012, for example, it was reported that the then-newly appointed cover star of Sports Illustrated, Kate Upton, wrote Anna a check for $25,000 to attend the gala when she met her at the Vogue offices. She did end up sitting with the Michael Kors crew at the event and donning a gown by the designer, so... worth it?
