Kate Moss is an iconic figure and, unfortunately (for most folks), she's unattainable... until now! Hot on the heels of the Whitney's t-shirt partnership with Gap, our friends over at Fame Game (always the rabble-rousers) have just pulled the curtain back on a stunt they pulled at the 2006 Whitney Biennial and are offering a limited edition t-shirt print to commemorate it!
In 2006, "an artist" known as "Coup d'Eclat" (Fame Game's co-founders) smuggled a doormat adorned with this the unforgettable image of Kate Moss' "cocaine incident" into the Whitney Biennial on press day along with a note describing the purpose of their prank. They wanted to create "the most publicity friendly work of art ever" and, by all accounts, succeeded. It was written up all over town and even the stodgy and bilious staff at Gawker called it "a standout piece."
So check out their post about it (a history of the campaign) or grab one for yourself -- while they last! (The shirt comes in two styles, t shirt and tank to).
