Turns out you only need to pay $30,000 to disregard the no-smoking signs. In 2017, A-listers seemed to light up en masse, forgoing Juuls for good ol' fashioned cigarettes to take bad-kid selfies throughout the evening. The likes of Bella Hadid, Dakota Johnson, and Marc Jacobs were all caught (on Instagram) puffing away in the bathroom. Needless to say, the Met donors (and the New York City Health Commissioner) were not pleased by this behavior. Anna Wintour made sure that didn't happen again by hiring guards to literally sniff the bathrooms.
