These Bossy, Chic Shoes Are The Secret To WFH Success

by Christie Grimm · May 13, 2020

I used to think that people who wore shoes around the house were mentally unstable, but oh how wrong I was.

After countless days of donning shoes solely to walk my dog or endeavor on my weekly pilgrimage to Whole Foods, I've stumbled upon one of the most surprising productivity and mood boosting hacks. A brilliant, bossy pair of shoes.

Ann Mashburn is one of my absolute favorite shopping destinations for deceptively simple, completely effortless, annoyingly chic fashion. Her amazing clothing designs aside (but really though, has there ever been anything so perfect as this pool printed taffeta dress!?!) - her shoes are the height of feminine fun.

Her newest style which your life just won't be complete without?

    The Tweed Buckle Shoe

It's Uptown, it's Downtown, it's begging for a mini skirt to really lean into that '60s vibe, and above all, it's screaming, "I'm busy and important and far more stylish than you, in case you didn't know."

See, that statement isn't only a strategically important message to broadcast to others, it's important to remember yourself as well. While the moment will eventually come at some point in some version of the future where you'll be fully immersed in all of the fabulous corners of your closet, when you'll dress up just because, and when a person at work will stop you desperate to know where you got your shoes, in the meantime, don't forget the version of yourself you've been carefully curating with Pinterest boards and saved Instagram posts and professional five year plans.

As hard as it may be to hear, you definitely aren't doing your best work when covered in blankets, lounging on your couch, balancing your laptop on a pillow. Trust me, I know. Turn off the TV, throw on a pair of jeans (let's be real, a mini skirt at home is actually a cry for help), slip on your bossiest pair of shoes, set yourself up at your desk or dining table and get working on that to-do list.

There's truly nothing as mood boosting and life affirming as the click clack of a pair of heels, even if you're just walking five feet to the kitchen to get a snack.
