Last night, the Society Reads gathered for a presentation with Jess Walter, author of "The Financial Lives of Poets," at restaurant and tequila mixology bar Mayahuel. With works featured in Playboy and Newsweek, the writer's latest novel details how life can reach the edge of ruin, and the steps to recovery. The group members were please to find that their $1 admission fee to the invitation only book party, of which the location was secret until only the day before, led them to burritos, chips, and custom rum cocktails including the Black Prince and No Se Daquiri.
