Chef, restaurateur, and now... fashion designer?! Is there anything Mario Carbone can't do?
This week, Major Food Group's leading man and the chef behind, duh, his namesake restaurant Carbone, debuted his first foray into the world of menswear. Considering how stylish he is when he's not rocking his chef's whites, it's no surprise his new collection is seriously on point.
Trading in his spicy rigatoni for tailored leisure suits and slick bomber jackets, Carbone has partnered with It-Label La Ligne to create the dapper line dubbed Our Lady of Rocco. The 19-piece collection is inspired by the swagger of 1980s New York, and the effortless style the chef witnessed growing up in the city.
"It has a certain 1980s Italian-American feel that I associate with the Members Only apparel I remember my dad and uncles wearing back in the day," Carbone says in a statement. "But the idea for this ambitious partnership is to reach a younger generation of men who are looking for a sense of formality that is simultaneously contemporary, comfortable, and classic."
The cool new collab also marks La Ligne's (by society staples Molly Howard, Valerie Macaulay, and Meredith Melling) official extension into menswear.
"After launching our Men’s Marin sweater in May, we are thrilled to now offer our customers a full menswear collection and Mar io was the perfect partner for us to solidify our entrance into the market with. We share a common love of New York City, which serves as inspiration for the Our Lady of Rocco collection, and a passion for creating high - quality products our customers can enjoy."
To celebrate the launch, Carbone and La Ligne are offering shoppers an immersive, in-person retail experience located at 275 Mulberry Street. The showroom is filled with old school memorabilia and, obviously, plenty of Italian flair. Make an appointment to visit HERE or shop the collection online!
