The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) hosted an event on the roof of 230 5th Avenue to raise funds to help ensure fair, accurate and inclusive representation of Gay people in media...and SO... they hired caricature artists, psychics, balloon makers, face painters and go-go waiters. Ironic? Maybe, but probably just tragically counter-productive. More story and photos below...
In attendance were Jill Zarin & Countess LuAnn de Lesseps of the Real Housewives of New York City (because all gay men love Bravo, right?), Jane Krakowski of "30 Rock", Michael Urie of "Ugly Betty", comedian Lisa Lampanelli, and DJ Corey Craig among others. Guests enjoyed the Venice Beach themed decorations, cocktails and a silent auction and painted their faces in an effort to be taken seriously and breakdown stereotypes...way to go guys...
