On Tuesday night Cipriani Wall Street "gave back" with a fundraiser for Pencils of Promise, a charity that raises money to build schools in developing countries. Guests enjoyed cocktails and yummy Cipriani snacks, as well as a photographic exhibit and documentary screening in the Library. Food, booze, art, and altruism? PoP covered all the bases!

Pencils of Promise recently opened three schools in Laos, so this event was as much a celebration as a capital campaign. Nick Onken, award-winning photographer, displayed some of his photos from recent travels with the PoP team, and founder Adam Braun spoke for several minutes with video footage of the nonprofit's mission and progress. According to Braun, "it was a great way to kick off 2010, as PoP will break ground on 3 more schools in the next 6 weeks and look to have their 10th school completed by year end."
