Betsey Johnson Presents First Ever AAS Icon Award To Fern Mallis At Parsons Fashion Studies Line Debut

[Fern Mallis, Betsey Johnson, Jen Kao.  All photos by SHAUN MADER for PMc] Fashion enjoyed a field day yesterday at the Lord & Taylor rooftop terrace at Parsons' 10th annual Fashion Studies line debut.  The event brought out fashion luminaries Fern Mallis and Betsey Johnson.  Mallis, the Senior VP of IMG Fashion and innovative genius behind a little something called Fashion Week, was presented the first-ever AAS Icon Award by Johnson.  The Fashion Studies line is a culmination of pre-selected works from graduating students of Parsons' AAS (Associate in Applied Science) programs.  Also honored at the event was Jenny Kao, an AAS alum who has launched her own high-end womens wear line since graduating.  The designs of the Fashion Studies line will make its debut to the public at Bloomingdale's in the fall.
