Beneath her camp-y cape of pink feathers, Anna Wintour arrived to The Met Gala (which, let's be real, is her party) wearing a floral applique gown, complete with stunning beaded details. As it turns out, the gorgeous frock was one of the most meaningful pieces she's ever worn.
As she explained to reporters on the pink carpet, the dress was designed by Chanel legend Karl Lagerfeld shortly before he died. "Karl made [it] for me, and Virginie finished," she said, referring to Lagerfeld's successor, Virginie Viard.
Being best-dressed has never been so bittersweet.
