How will you be celebrating the holidays this year?
The holidays this year will definitely be different but I am lucky to be spending them at home with my loved ones.
What's your most magical holiday memory?
More than just a memory, I cherish the nostalgic feeling of celebrating the holidays as a child. The excitement you feel the night before Christmas, the sweetness of eating my Grandmother’s freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, and the warmth of sitting by the fire with my parents and sisters while watching our favorite Christmas movies.
Any favorite traditions?
Decorating the Christmas tree! I love playing my favorite Christmas songs and lighting the fireplace to get into the decorating mood. This year’s tree is decked with baby blue bows and glass ornaments filled with polaroids of my family and friends. The polaroids have been taken throughout the years and they remind me of special memories I hold close to my heart. They add a personal touch and this year more than ever make my Christmas tree truly the heart of my home.
Who are your style inspirations this season?
I am always inspired by style icons of the 1950s. I especially love Audrey Hepburn’s holiday style. Whether she was wearing a black turtleneck or little black dress, she always looked effortlessly chic!
What are your go-to holiday colors?
Red and of course baby blue!
What would you recommend for someone interested in dressing up their Zoom party look?
Since you’ll mostly show from the waist up I recommend pieces with shoulder detailing like our Katie Mini Dress with off the shoulder balloon sleeves adorned with bows or a statement bustier like our Silk Faille Twisted Bow Top.
What about for a small gathering with friends at home?
No matter how small the gathering might be, I think dressing up makes the Holidays even more special. I recommend wearing something festive and fun like our Lauren Dress in red with an oversized bow in the back.
And for a horse drawn carriage ride around Central Park?
Definitely something cozy and warm. You don't have to sacrifice style for comfort - I recommend a wool cape with a contrasting pattern or in a bold color paired with long gloves for a glamorous touch!
What's the easiest way for someone to make their outfit festive and chic?
I love pairing my holiday looks with accessories that add a touch of sparkle. I think it’s an easy way to elevate any holiday look. You can add a statement piece of jewelry, a headband with crystal embellishments, or a pair of shimmery pumps.
Anything special on your wish list this year?
Since I’ve been spending most of my time at home, my wish list includes anything from table linens to throw pillows. At the top of my list is beautifully monogrammed dinnerware. I’ve been eyeing Laboratorio Paravicini’s handcrafted monogrammed plates. I think they’ll add a one-of-a-kind touch to my tablescape.
What are you most excited for next?
After such an unexpected year, I am optimistic that brighter days are on the horizon. I’m most excited for being able to dress up again and attend those special occasions we have all been looking forward to!
