5 Young Entrepreneurs Taking The NYC Fashion World By Storm

At only 20 years old Serena Esformes has a line of her own called Smak Apparel. While attending USC she realized that most of her peers lived in their workout wear and was inspired to create a line not only functional, but extremely fashionable as well. While living in LA, where everyone is so health-conscious, Serena realized there was a niche in the market for high-design, high-performance workout apparel. She wanted to create an active wear line that could be worn for sweating or socializing, from boot camp to brunch and beyond. Serena says that starting a business while in school and trying to enjoy this phase in her life can at times be overwhelming, but she just reminds herself of how much she loves what she does, and how rewarding it is to apply hard work to making her dreams come true. Serena is now attending NYC'S Fashion Institute of Technology and pursuing a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Management. If this gal is only 20 years old, imagine where where she'll be at 25!
