Nothing skeeves me out more than when my nail polish starts to chip. Chipped nail polish is a hygiene red flag. Going to get a manicure requires effort - using a cotton pad and remover to take it off, however, does not. So when the crackle polish started taking over I found it hard to believe so many people actually enjoyed the look of having chipped nails. The thought of crackle nail polish is cute for the emo high school kids, and edgy models on a Nylon shoot, but once I started seeing mother-daughter duos rocking this in East Hampton, I knew the trend had gone too far.
