Kristen Stewart And Dakota Fanning Turn Heads At The Runaways Premiere

[All photos by Eugene Mim for PMc] Tommy Hilfiger and Quintessentially sponsored "The Runaways" premiere at the Landmark Sunshine Theater last night, and even though Michael Shannon bolted down the red carpet, Kristen Stewart, Dakota Fanning, Joan Jett and Cherie Currie were kind enough to take their sweet time and answer lots of questions.-

To be fair, Shannon's currently starring in "Our Town" on Broadway, so he couldn't stay very long, and it's nice his co-stars and director (Floria Sigismondi) made up for his absence. However, he wasn't the only one who avoided -- or tried to dodge-- the line of flashing bulbs and frantic scribbles. Constantine Maroulis tried to skip the line and walk directly into the theater, but when someone ushered him to the path he shouted "carpets! There are carpets everywhere!" So he's a comedian, everybody! Ugh.

Julianne Moore, Alessandra Ambrosio, Riley Keough, Debbie Harry, Richie Rich, and Chloe Sevigny were also there, and all enjoyed getting photographed (or seemed to). Zac Posen, Moby (!!!) and Steve Van Zandt also made relatively low-key entrances, as did Kirstie Alley, who walked in dead last. After waiting until almost everyone had entered the theater, it seemed like she was was refusing to be photographed. But after a handler promised she wouldn't have to answer any questions about "that," (which was probably about if her new diet has anything to do with Scientology, she allowed the photographers to capture her 25 pound (and counting!) weight loss.

Floira Sigismondi was the first person to walk down the red carpet (that wasn't actually red, but who cares), and she couldn't have been nicer. It seemed like she was much happier to be there than anyone, and that's including Joan Jett. She stopped to speak with virtually everybody, gushing about Stewart and Fanning at every opportunity. On what it was like to direct the two of them, she said,

"They're different. Kristen interpreted her role much more physical and actually used her body a lot and in very subtle ways, and Dakota was a little bit internalized and I think they worked amazingly against each other."

Cherrie Currie takes the cake, though, for giving the biggest compliment of the night about Dakota Fanning.

"Dakota is the best actress to ever live, and I really hope she gets a nod from the Academy. She deserves it and she deserved it a long time ago. I am so proud of her."

Kristen and Dakota also spent a long time on the red carpet, and considering how they're in such high demand right now, it's amazing their handlers released them into the wild for so long. After the whole thing was over, Kristen turned to Dakota and said, "Man! How weird is this?!" And even though she was in a beautifully short babydoll dress, Dakota bent over dangerously and affirmed her costar with a huge laugh.
