Bright Night And A Bright Future For New York Public Library

The New York Public Library on Fifth Avenue has always been one of the best event spaces in New York (think Paper Mag party, Carrie Bradshaw's would-be wedding venue), and last night was no exception: Leighton Meester, Billy Crudup, Si Newhouse, Nora Ephron, Oscar De La Renta, Rachel Roy, John Lithgow, Henry Kissinger and DJ Cassidy joined the well-heeled (and well-read?) New York social crowd for the Young Lions Benefit Party, "A Bright Future".

The evening started out with a dinner, followed by cocktails, dessert, and dancing--lots and lots of dancing. The event was black tie, although guests were invited to wear "Cosmic Couture", so as you can imagine, the clothing was at times out of this world.
