Booktrack's conceptual strategy may leave you, like many, scratching your heads (wait, Peter Thiel actually invested good money in an app who's sole purpose is pairing music with books!? Who wants music playing they can't control while they're reading?!), but there's no doubting the company's ability to throw a good party. Last night's launch party on the fourth floor of Yotel, brought out a solid crowd, (even Courtney Love showed up!) who didn't seem to care about the logistics of what they were toasting to.
Who's responsible here? Founder Paul Cameron had an good idea, he had himself some investment money. All that was needed? Brooke Geahan! The founder of the Accompanied Literary Society was made VP for publishing and with her came her "wide circle of friends in the literary world."
Here's to "very fast-moving digital publishing!'
Others in on Booktrack include James Frey and Salman Rushdie. Others who came out to support the company last night included Georgina Chapman, Paul Haggis,Salman Rushdie, Courtney Love, Paul Sevigny, Peter Davis, Natalie Obradovich, Jason Rossi, Bobby Kennedy, Mark Cameron.
We had fun at the launch party, but we'll leave the digital revolutions to these guys.
