Karen LaGatta Editions hosted a very glam party to celebrate the selection of Chilean artist, Ivan Navarro, to represent Chile in the forthcoming 53rd Venice Biennale, opening in June. Navarro’s characteristic use of mirrors, light bulbs, fluorescent tubes and utilitarian materials create compelling and mysterious works that combine real and fictional space. The 53rd International Art Exhibition runs June 7th through November 22, 2009, and is not to be missed! Attendees included art-world hipsters, fashionistas, Hollywood moguls and uber collectors: Marshall G. Allan, Whit Stillman, Lisa Anastos, Anita Zabludowicz, Marty Marguilies, Jonathan Lee, Christy MacClear, Robin Cembalest and Christina Kruse.
