While his unknowing mistress maintains that their relationship wasn't just about sex, but rather "a deep spiritual connection," other leaders in the church claim that Lentz hadn't been an angel for some time now. A former member of Hillsong told The Sun that he had been sleeping around within the church for years, and that higher-ups knew about it.
“There have been many sexual transgressions at Hillsong NYC. [A friend and I] tried to address them in 2017 and we were told that we were spreading gossip."
So are they taking action now only because it happened with an outsider who could threaten the church's reputation? I need a Netflix doc on this ASAP.
