Let's start from the beginning. MK originally signed a petition for divorce on April 17th but it was rejected due to COVID restrictions. A month later, she filed an "emergency" petition, stating that Sarkozy was attempting to leave her high, dry, and homeless amidst a pandemic after failing to renew the lease on their $29,000-a-month Gramercy apartment.
"My husband has terminated the lease on our New York City residence … without my consent," Olsen alleged in the documents.
"This application is an emergency because my husband expects me to move out of our home on Monday, May 18, 2020 in the middle of New York City being on pause due to COVID-19."
Finally, on May 25th, Olsen’s summons and complaint were processed and accepted by the Manhattan county clerk.
