"Best 2K I Ever Spent!" Socialite Guys And Dolls Get Film Noir At Boom Boom Room

by SUSANNAH LONG · May 3, 2010

There were guys and gams galore after the Chanel Dinner at the Boom Boom Room. Black and white photos (and the name Boom Boom Room) always make us feel very film noir. Judging from these photos, the revelers felt the same.-

Alexander and Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Derek Blasberg, Chrissie Miller, and others celebrated all night. We assume that the ladies had guns strapped to their thighs, and the gentlemen wiped their prints off of all the glasses. So spectacular was the carousing, that at some point we'll probably have to start pulling classic movie quotes to describe it . . .

The young musician prayed for the day when his muse would walk into the bar, order a double whiskey, and transform his art.

In the meantime, his devoted sister comforted him with reassurances that, "Muses who are easy to come by are good for only ticker-tape and watercolor, see?"

The sister was herself a classy dame.

No, we're giving you the runaround. The lady was a tramp.

Their nights were filled with revels. Life was Leda, and they were swans.

Those dolls were like fast cars on a dark road, and they didn't care how many red lights they ran.

They never fooled us with their song and dance.

They were made of the stuff that dreams are made of. And they knew it.

A man can spend the rest of his life trying to remember what he shouldn't have done.

Afterward, she delicately patted her mouth with her handkerchief and said, "There are two things I hunger for. Life, and human flesh."

She was worth a stare. She was trouble.

"The only thing better than a fellow wearing a beard," said the lady, "Is a beard wearing a fellow."

He treated her like a pair of gloves. When he was cold, he called her up.

She was a bitter little lady in a bitter little world.

It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
