The biggest surprise for me has been how political the BTS of the retail industry can be. One of my former clients was not happy that I was launching my own brand and actually called a couple retailers threatening to pull their business out if said retailers were to carry my brand. I honestly had no idea in my wildest dreams (or nightmares rather) that could ever happen.
