Hedy Klineman, Buddhas in the Garden
Almost like a mystic mantra, Hedy Klineman's work is an exercise in spiritual repetitiveness. Exploring the image of the Buddha in a series that spans over 50 pieces of work, the art world veteran employs everything from acrylic paints to pop art silkscreens to produce a tongue-in-cheek critique of the commercialization of religion, while at the same time converging the scenes of the sacred and sublime with those of the city.
