AFA, Maurice Sendak and "Steampunkinetics"
Where the Wild Things... Art? Yes, it's a wild rumpus over at AFA Gallery, which recently opened its Maurice Sendak Retrospective: a collection of nearly 50 sketches, limited edition pieces, and other items by the late author of children's books. Also this week, the gallery is celebrating the opening reception of "Steampunkinetics," an exhibition of more than 40 works inspired by the Steam-punk genre. Expect time machines, airships, musical instruments, and more gadgets designed in this unique Victorian/Industrial Age aesthetic.
