Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs, The Museum Of Modern Art
Matisse was one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, and his work is now showing at the Museum of Modern Art. Matisse worked with a variety of media, from paint to sculpture, but nonetheless, Matisse's reputation comes from his revolutionary work in the bold use of color and drawing techniques.
Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs at the MoMA shows the most extensive collection of the scissor-and-paper cutouts by the artist. Matisse cut painted papers and reconstructed them on canvas, a new technique from the last stage of his career.
The current exhibition continues until February 10th.
