Charles Atlas, The Illusion of Democracy
Luhring Augustine's inaugural exhibition features "The Illusion of Democracy" by Charles Atlas, the famed director and video artist. Atlas is perhaps known as a pioneer of cinedance, filmography that uses movement instead of words to tell a story, and his newest showing will include two video installations never before seen in New York, Painting by Numbers, 2008 and Plato’s Alley, 2009. Atlas will also exhibit a new large-scale video work made specifically for this exhibition.
Through May 20 at Luhring Augustine (Bushwick), 25 Knickerbocker Avenue, Brooklyn. For more information, go HERE.
