It's only Wednesday and already our Saturday is crammed with festivities (more on those to follow), but we kind of wished it wasn't when we heard Martin Sexton will be at the Stephen Talkhouse. For those who haven't heard of him, Sexton's got this terrific, husky drawl, with just a bit of twangy juice. His songs fall somewhere between folk, alt-country, and rock -think Lyle Lovett meets James Taylor meets James Brown.
I've only seen him play bigger venues, but he has the sort of presence and voice that's made for intimate, relaxed venues like the Talkhouse. He goes on at 8pm, and tickets are almost gone. Go here to purchase (must be over 21).
