The Gruesome Finishes
So who came out ahead? Here's our final list:
8. Dope, with $6.1 million. Good thing Pharrell and Diddy produced this, and it had a relatively low budget, or else these opening weekend dollars wouldn't be so...well, dope.
7. Entourage, with a measly $10.3 million, proving that star power, whether real or fake, can't buy you love.
6. Max, making $12.2 million and heroically trying to meet its budget...but, sadly, missing its mark.
5. Insidious Chapter 3, whose $22.7 million will probably not be able to cover new underwear for everyone who wet themselves during this horror flick.
4. Spy gracefully snuck into the top half, sniping the competition with $29.1 million.
3. Ted 2, giving a big fart to the bottom half of our list, with $33.5 million.
2. Inside Out, with $90.4 million, certainly found joy in theaters and in American hearts.
1. And, smashing through every previous record made, Jurassic World came roaring in with the largest opening weekend of all time, grossing $208.8 million.
We're looking forward to pitting our dinosaurs and our beloved animated characters against the other top earners of the summer when we come to a close. Stay tuned!
