Although Dope found massive critical acclaim, opening against a Pixar movie, even an original story, promises to be difficult. Inside Out broke Pixar's record for an original film's opening weekend, and had the second highest grossing opening weekend for Pixar ever, behind only Toy Story 3. So unfortunately for Dope, Pixar reigned supreme over the big-name indie flick, and even over Pixar's previous films.
