With New York City frozen over (along with the ability to wine and dine unrestricted), a new generation of snow birds have found themselves thawing in the sunlight of South Florida. The party-hardy are popping bottles in Miami, but the more well-to-do of the bunch have made their nests in Palm Beach. As for where they're flocking? While there are plenty of watering holes to see and be seen, nothing has come close to the buzz surrounding Swifty's.
A reincarnation of the legendary Upper East Side bistro, Swifty's debuted at the Colony Hotel in 2019, slated to be a one-season pop-up hosted in partnership with the original's co-founder, Robert Caravaggi. Following its success that season, with former regulars of the NYC location, including Martha Stewart, frequenting the place, the eatery returned when the Colony reopened its doors this past fall after a COVID-induced hiatus. During the past few months of its reign, Swifty's has earned its reputation as one of the hottest tickets in town.
With Caravaggi back at the helm and an impressive al fresco residency on the hotel's poolside patio, Swifty's has unsurprisingly drawn a crowd of chic clientele, including Aerin Lauder and socialite Jean Shafiroff, who can frequently be found holding court over the Ladies Who Lunch types. The famous meatloaf is back on the menu, along with wedge salads, shrimp cocktails, and, of course, caviar service and the fresh catch du jour.
The only thing harder than resisting its Slim Aarons-approved vibes? Well, that would be getting a table during peak mealtime hours.
