3. Open-Air Errands/Why You Should Never HAVE to Go to The Beverly Center
One of the things I think we take for granted in L.A. is our outdoor shopping centers. I've been laughed at on more than one occasion by visiting out-of-towners for referring to
Westfield Century City as "the mall." And when I think about the trolleys and topiary of the The Grove versus the exceptional acoustics of crying children and overhead fluorescent illumination of the Beverly Center, I definitely see their point. By the way, you guys know hell has fluorescent lighting, right? Anyway, if you have errands to run at the Apple Store, Sephora, or dare I say Abercrombie, you can still enjoy a bit of fresh air and sunlight by visiting one of the city's open-air shopping centers like
The Grove,
Westfield Century City, and
Santa Monica Place.
