Last Thursday night seemed way more like a Friday at the Santa Monica Pier Twilight Dance Series where people of all ages rocked out on the sandy shores to set their work day woes out to sea.  We captured the masses as they swayed to the soulful sounds of what is best described as melange of musical genres, ranging from jazz, to folk, and even spoken words from the artist Ricki Lee Jones.

Blankets and sweatshirts were donned to stay cozy in the ocean breeze, and for those thirsty patrons who like keeping warm with a glass of red, the pier also hosted the Seaside Wine Tasting Bar. $15 for five tastes of different wines finished with a glass of your favorite. ...Hello, new happy hour spot!

The free summer concert series, which began in July, will rock on every Thursday through September 2nd.  If you want to join the huddled masses in the sand, make sure to prep yourself for this Thursday's musical acts, refined refreshments, and beachy devotees.
