If you haven't bought your tickets for the MGMT shows at the Greek or Fox Theater next month, consider this alternative: the band will be in town on the 20th for a taping of "The Late Late Show" where they'll be giving a live performance, and tickets to be in the studio audience are FREE.
But, naturally, there's a catch: you won't know if your requested tickets are available until the vendor contacts you via email to let you know. Oh, and that doesn't mean the tickets are safe, either. The vendor cautions "there is a chance you will receive an email saying your tickets are available and we reach capacity by the time you respond." So after submitting your request, you best be within a hot step of a computer to secure your precious tickets when you get that email. And save the bragging until you actually do secure the tickets because there's a very likely chance things won't work out. Sorry to be downers, we're just being real. Are you willing to take on those odds?
If you're not down to risk missing them and getting your electric feel on Coachella-style, then definitely secure some seats to their scheduled concerts. MGMT at the Greek (the best summer concert venue in L.A.!) will be epic and worth every penny.
