His padded pockets allowed him to finance films including Get Carter and The Polar Express. He also wrote 2003’s Kangaroo Jack and 1994’s Every Breath, and financed/produced Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones concert doc, Shine a Light. In 2000, he founded the Shangri-La Entertainment company with Adam Rifkin. One of his more recent film investments, the Howard Hughes film written by, directed by, and starring Warren Beatty, Rules Don't Apply, was a particularly gruesome flop. Nevertheless, he seemed to keep one of the most enviable Rolodexes on the scene.
