A Star Is Born
Growing up, Paris was given the nickname Star. The first of four children, she was always in front of the camera, ready to entertain.
But with parents so intent on their daughter living a - her mother Kathy having been in the entertainment industry as a child and her father Rick being a notoriously private man - the nickname seems a bit of a weird move, no?
Throughout the many old home movies that the film shows, various family members can be heard calling a young Paris everything from Grace Kelly to Lana Turner. I'm not a psychologist or anything but it seems pretty obvious that as a little girl she was celebrated for being a star while also kept from claiming her spotlight beyond the eyes of her family.
