The Dive: Hinano Café
In the same dictionary that has Channing Tatum's picture next to "Terrible Actor," the entry for "Scuzzy Dive Bar" would boast a photo of Hinano, and I mean that as a high compliment. Located in the cluster of bars and restaurants on the beach end of Washington, all the way towards Marina Del Rey, Hinano is the picture of a beachfront pit, the kind of place where bikers, hipsters, floozies, goths and gross old men from MDR all congregate with minimal friction to enjoy cheap beer in frosted mugs, free popcorn, sawdust-lined floors, sports on the big screen and pool tables. There's a cooked-to-order (right behind the bar, no less) $5 cheeseburger that blows away most double-the-price sports bar burgers, occasional live music, and a Ms. Pac-Man machine. By far my (Alex) personal favorite bar in Venice.
